I didn’t get to meet my fave WWF heel Honky Tonk Man due to my work schedule, but my folks were nice enough to stand in line so I could at least get an autograph or three.
He was signing stuff at a toy show at Arizona Collector’s Marketplace, and I was the only one who brought his action figure from the awesome WWF Hasbro line. Those toys had the best likenesses (most of the time) and had a nice He-Man chunkiness to them. My brother and I used to have a bucket full of them as kids, and we loved those things. Honky Tonk Man was one of the best looking figures in the line, and I managed to get a carded one for a reasonable price before the event.
Woulda been cool to meet him in person, too, but I guess he does a lot of events these days, so I’ll probably get another chance.
That’s super cool. My favorites when I was young were Hulk Hogan and Randy savage. Thanks for sharing.
Randy Savage was bomb, too. Did you listen to Dutch Mantell tell the story of his knife fight in the waffle house?
Wanna sell me that signed wwf hasbro of htm?
At present it’s a keepsake, but maybe someday…
